British Airways Engineering to host 2nd annual European Airlines Loan/Borrow Forum

London, July 10, 2013 – British Airways Engineering, a leading Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) provider, has today announced that it will host the 2nd European Airlines Loan and Borrow Forum (EALBF) at Waterside, its UK headquarters, from September 10-12, 2013. This follows the overwhelming success of the first forum in Paris in September 2012.

The EALBF was founded by British Airways, Air France, Lufthansa Technik and Aviation Concepts and aims to follow the success of the North American Airlines Loan and Borrow Forum (NAALBF), which has been running for more than 20 years. European attendees recognised the value of the NAALBF and have implemented a similar process in Europe.

The Forum is an open community of airline members sharing and discussing ways to improve loan and borrow processes to maximize operational reliability.

Harp Brar, British Airways’ sales loans and exchanges manager, said: “Although competition among European carriers is as strong as ever, the EALBF focuses on establishing contacts between members through regular forum meetings. It’s a proven process that facilitates the discussion of common loan and borrow management practices by sharing day-to-day concerns in coping with operational and administrative problems. The Loan/Borrow Forum is an excellent example of ‘working together’ and has proven its value to the airline community.”
