China Southern Opens Guangzhou-Moscow Air Route

China Southern Airlines Co., Ltd. (China Southern, SHSE: 600029) yesterday opened a non-stop Guangzhou-Moscow air route, the fourth non-stop air route towards Europe for the Guangzhou hub of the company.

Thus, the company’s “Canton Route” has stretched to Russia.

The Guangzhou-Moscow air route, optimistic about the non-stop flight markets of the two regions, also hopes to attract the attention of more airlines that have “the 6th freedom of the air” in that they can put down passengers in China Southern when carry them through routes among Europe, Southeast Asia, Australia, Singapore, etc.

China Southern will increase the scheduled flights between Guangzhou to Auckland to 10 every week from the second half of 2013, according to an insider of the company. As the Australia route will embrace its hot season in the second half, China Southern will put A380 ultra-big passenger plane into use for the Guangzhou-Sydney route, added the person.
