JAL Further Expands its Europe Network with New Codeshare Flights

TOKYO June 11, 2014: Japan Airlines (JAL) further expanded its codeshare cooperation with Finnair (AY), and British Airways (BA) respectively between Helsinki and Riga in Latvia (operated by AY) and between London and Budapest in Hungary (operated by BA), starting June 12, 2014.

JAL has marketed AY-operated flights between Helsinki and Tallinn (Estonia) and between Helsinki and Vilnius (Lithuania) since this spring. With the addition of Helsinki = Riga, the airline will provide customers improved accessibility to all countries of Baltic States with JL-coded flights.

Meanwhile, JAL also expanded its codeshare cooperation with British Airways on BA-operated flights between London and Budapest. By adding this new codeshare route, the airline will offer more options for passengers traveling to Budapest called “Pearl of the Danube”.

The airline has boasted 33 codeshare routes with BA and AY respectively within Europe after adding those new codeshare flights.

JAL continues to embrace new challenges to bring more convenience and benefits to the customers, whether they are business or leisure travelers between Japan and Europe.

New codeshare flights:

1. Between Helsinki and Riga (operated by AY), and between London and Budapest (operated by BA).

2. New codeshare flights below will start from June 12, 2014.

3. Reservations and ticket sales are available from June 12, 2014.
