AEROGAL IS NOW AVIANCA IN ECUADOR

After intense reorganization efforts, which include technology homologation, process reconversion, and operational integration with all of the subsidiary airlines of Avianca Holdings S.A, AeroGal announces the adoption of the name Avianca as its commercial brand in Ecuador.

This is an important closure in the company’s consolidation strategy in the Ecuadorian market, which is aimed at providing a premium travel experience to travelers in all domestic routes as well as those served by Avianca Holdings S.A. subsidiary airlines in the Americas and Europe.

Since its integration to Avianca Holdings S.A. in October 2010, AeroGal has moved forward with its modernization, growth, and service quality programs. The company has strengthened its presence in Ecuador becoming the largest operator out of Quito Airport and towards Galapagos. In order to do so, the airline introduced modern Airbus A320 aircraft to its fleet; optimized its route network, offering improved itineraries to its many destinations; and implemented the most comprehensive safety management system, being re-certified with IATA Operational Safety Audit, IOSA. Also, the adoption of Avianca’s technological platform for customer service and the use of a single loyalty program, LifeMiles, allow the operation to perform under the single commercial brand, Avianca, which was adopted by the other airlines in the Holding in 2013.

The operation and commercialization of AeroGal under the commercial brand Avianca is effective immediate as of today, when the physical spaces in the 7 airports served by the company along with the administrative offices will start to carry the new brand. As well, employees will now wear the uniforms that distinguish them as members of Avianca in Ecuador; both the sales offices and aircraft will gradually adopt the new visual identity.

Avianca Holdings S.A. CEO, Fabio Villegas Ramirez, stated: “The adoption of the commercial brand Avianca by AeroGal in Ecuador is based on a rigorous transformation process which pivots on modernizing the ground and air infrastructure, the expansion of the network, and the addition of technological developments to make an easier travel experience. This has resulted in over one thousand direct jobs in Ecuador, expanding our service and product portfolio to new market niches, increasing our capacity for passenger and cargo transportation, and strengthening the position of Ecuador in its development and strategic position in the Americas for business and leisure”.
