AVIANCA AND TURKISH AIRLINES OFFER TRAVELERS NEW FLIGHT OPTIONS THROUGH THEIR CODESHARE AGREEMENT

Avianca and Turkish Airlines announce a new codeshare agreement. Passengers traveling on Avianca will be able to fly fast and efficiently from Latin America and the Caribbean to different destinations in Turkey and Europe. At the same time, passengers flying with Turkish Airlines will gain access to a wide offering of flights through Avianca´s Hub in Bogota, Colombia towards Latin America.

Through the airlines’ memberships to Star Alliance, passengers are able to enjoy multiple benefits aimed at making a more comfortable flight experience, such as: the purchase of a single ticket to their final destination, the ability to accrue and redeem miles on the frequent traveler program of their choice, accumulating miles towards their frequent flyer status.

“Through the codeshare agreement with Turkish Airlines we can offer more and improved flight options to our own passengers traveling towards Turkey,” stated Fabio Villegas, Avianca Airlines Chief Executive Officer. “We will also have the opportunity to provide service with excellence to Turkish Airlines customers on our own route network, focusing on the world travelers’ needs and customer satisfaction.”

Passengers traveling from the cities in Latin America will be able to connect with Turkish Airlines´ flights in Madrid, Barcelona to Istanbul. At the same time, passengers flying on Turkish Airlines will be able to connect with Avianca’s flights throughout Latin America via Bogotá, Medellín and Cali.

Turkish and Avianca are working on expanding the scope of this code share agreement with more destinations in Europe and Latin America in order to connect more of both airlines’ gateways in the near future.

All flights will be available for purchase starting on June 27 and for travel starting on July 7.
