LOT and Aegean - new possibilities to fly to sunny Greece

Warsaw – LOT Polish Airlines improve transit from Warsaw to Athens and further expand codeshare cooperation with Aegean Airlines under Star Alliance.

Starting today, LOT together with Greek Aegean airlines will offer six flights a week on Warsaw – Athens – Warsaw route, and to further explore the sunny islands from there.

This is another part of the modifications which are consistently made to the route map according to the Restructuring Plan.In the summer, for example, LOT has made corrections of the times of operation on more than 20 routes, which, according to the policy adopted, has increased the passenger transit capacity in Warsaw by ca. 40%. This effect was achieved despite the fact that the route map of the carrier was not expanded. The connection to Athens is a part of that.

However, the cooperation between both airlines will not include offering of common flights for passengers travelling only between Warsaw and Athens or the other way round. In the summer 2015 season, the joint offer will be addressed to transit passengers travelling via Warsaw or via Athens from/to other initial/destination airports.

Both partners will operate on the route to the Greek capital by October 25. In winter, Aegean Airlines will keep three flights a week in their schedule with the support of LOT who – according to the Restructuring Plan – suspends this connection for the time being.
