Transaero Offers Record Number of Routes during Winter 2014/2015 Operational Season

October 15, 2014, Moscow – Transaero Airlines will serve 165 routes during the winter 2014/2015 operational season, 16 routes more than the previous winter.

The new operational season will see a significant expansion of the airline’s domestic route network. Transaero will launch 11 new domestic routes that have never been served in a winter season before. Thus, the airline will serve routes from Moscow to Bratsk, Gorno-Altaysk, Kurgansk, Naryan-Mar, Novokuznetsk, Noyabrsk and Chita.

Flights to Khabarovsk and Vladivostok will be carried out twice daily.

Transaero will continue to perform flights to the traditional popular tourist destinations such as Bangkok, Phuket, Ho Chi Minh, Denpasar, Mauritius, Cancun, Punta Cana, Varadero, Seychelles, Krabi and Colombo. The airline will continue to expand the route network to leisure destinations resuming scheduled flights to Eilat (Israel) and launching charter flights to Nha Trang (Vietnam).

Transaero will also expand the flight network from St Petersburg offering services on 14 routes (two more routes than in the 2013/2014 winter schedule). For the first time in its history, the airline will serve the St Petersburg-London route and for the first time in a winter season, it will launch a St Petersburg-Tel Aviv service.

The airline will increase the flight frequency between Moscow and Berlin to two flights per day offering passengers an option between a full service flight from Moscow Vnukovo airport and Discount service from Moscow Domodedovo airport.

The airline’s programme of direct flights from Russia’s regions to popular international leisure destinations will cover 49 routes from 17 cities. The airline will run flights to Hurghada from 16 cities, to Sharm-El-Sheikh – from 10 cities, and to Bangkok – from 12 cities.

The novelty of this season will be the joint flight offering under the code-sharing agreement with Turkish Airlines on the route between Moscow and Istanbul. Passengers will be able to choose between five flights per day, one of which will be operated by Transaero Airlines and four – by Turkish Airlines.

Currently, Transaero Airlines has nine code-sharing agreements with such airlines as AigleAzur, airBaltic, Austrian Airlines, Belavia, China Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Turkish Airlines, UTAir, Virgin Atlantic, as well as a Commercial agreement based on the code-share principles with easyJet. The airline also has 62 interline and 34 Special Prorate Agreements with global leading airlines.

Transaero Airlines will operate flights from two Moscow airports – Vnukovo and Domodedovo. All flights that used to be served from Sheremetyevo airport will be moved to these airports.

The overall number of destinations served from Moscow will increase by 10% in comparison with the previous winter season.

From Moscow Vnukovo airport the airline will serve 59 domestic and international destinations. It is estimated that 40% of the airline’s passenger traffic via Moscow will go through Vnukovo airport. Transaero regards Vnukovo airport as the airport of choice for its premium class services.

Transaero will offer its unique Imperial (first) class on the routes from Moscow to a number of domestic and international destinations including to Vladivostok, Khabarovsk, Almaty, Astana, London, Milan, Paris, Paphos, Tel Aviv, Dubai, New York, Miami, Los Angeles, Cancun, Punta Cana and Denpasar. Transaero will focus its operations from Domodedovo airport on domestic flights, flights to popular leisure destinations and flights with Discount class.

Discount class is gaining popularity among the airline’s clients. The route network of flights with this class will expand to include 36 routes in the winter season.
