Jazeera Airways reports December 2014 Operational Performance

December 2014 highlights:
● 10% increase in flown passengers from December 2013, following the increase in flown passengers in the previous month
● Levant and Istanbul routes: 18% increase in flown passengers from December 2013
● Egypt routes: 19% increase in flown passengers from December 2013
GCC routes: 11% increase in flown passengers from December 2013

Freedom Town, Kuwait, February 3, 2015: Jazeera Airways released its December 2014 Operational Performance Report today, which shows a 10% increase in total flown passengers from December 2013, and an on-time performance of 95%. The increase in December follows the announced increase in number of passengers in the previous month.

Jazeera Airways issues its Operational Performance Report on both a monthly and yearly basis. The Report is based on official figures and statistics from Kuwait’s Directorate General for Civil Aviation (DGCA). The airline’s on-time performance is based on its reporting, in comparison to results by the independent US-based OTP tracker, FlightStats.

Jazeera Airways saw an 18% increase in flown passengers from December 2013 on routes serving Istanbul, Beirut and Amman. The increase was driven by an increase in demand on the route serving Amman, and the introduction of winter flights to Istanbul this year. The airline saw a 7% increase in flown passengers in November 2014, in comparison to the same month of the previous year.

Flown passengers also increased on routes serving Egypt, increasing by 19% from December 2013 despite of Jazeera Airways serving five Egyptian cities during the month, compared to six cities in December 2013. The decrease in number of cities served follows the temporary closure of Assiut International Airport for renovations since June 2014.

The airline had registered an increase as well in the month of November 2014, despite the temporary closure of Assiut International Airport. Flown passengers increased by 10% in November 2014, in comparison to November 2013.

On routes serving the Gulf cities of Dubai, Bahrain, Jeddah and Riyadh, Jazeera Airways saw a 11% increase in flown passengers, compared to December 2013. Routes serving gulf cities has seen a parallel growth in the previous month of November 2014, with a 9% increase in flown passengers from November 2013.
