Jin Air, Korean Air’s low cost carrier (LCC), plans to begin flights between Seoul and Honolulu later this year, marking the carrier’s first venture into the long haul market.

“While other full-service carriers operate between Korea and Hawaii, Jin Air’s operation should drive additional demand,” says John Jackson, Korean Air’s vice president of marketing for the Americas. Jin Air began operations in July 2008 with regional routes in Korea and, with the addition of Honolulu this year, will serve 20 cities in eight countries.
