New destinations in LOT's network

Warsaw, 10 November 2015 – LOT is to launch new flights from Warsaw to Košice, Palanga and Kharkiv. Flights to the new destinations will be launched early 2016 and tickets are already available for sale, including via lot.com. The Polish airline will connect those cities to the world and guarantee passengers the shortest and most comfortable trip to several dozen key destinations in Europe, North America and Asia.

Flights to Košice in Slovakia will be launched on 28th March and are scheduled 6 times per week on a year-round operation by Bombardier Q400 aircrafts. Due to the schedule, passengers travelling from Košice will benefit from the shortest connection to the most important European destinations served via Warsaw, such as Stockholm, Düsseldorf, Zurich, London, Amsterdam and Paris. All those city pairs allow for a same day return trip, eliminating the need for an overnight stay.

“The current offer from Košice Airport is insufficient – other hubs are at least a three-hour drive away. We connect Košice to the world, enabling the passengers to benefit from the most convenient route not only to Warsaw, but also via Warsaw to numerous other destinations in Poland and across Europe” , says Marcin Celejewski, acting CEO of LOT Polish Airlines.

Flights to Palanga in Lithuania will also be launched on 28th March and will be operated 6 times per week by Bombardier Q400 aircrafts on a seasonal basis. Transfers in Warsaw will take no more than an hour for the majority of flights within Europe.

“Palanga has hardly been reachable by air. With the launch of this new route, we are happy to change the status-quo and soon a trip from Warsaw to the Baltic coast in Lithuania will take just a little over an hour. On the other hand, we are aware that the inhabitants of Palanga need a flight connecting them to the most important European business and tourist destinations. Today, LOT ensures that,” adds acting CEO, Marcin Celejewski.

Flights to the third new destination on LOT’s route map, Kharkiv, will be operated effective 1st March 5 times a week with comfortable Embraer 175 jets.

“Passengers from Kharkiv deserve an airline which will take them to any destination in Europe or even further due to its convenient schedule. Because of LOT Polish Airlines, through one short and convenient change in Warsaw, passengers will be able to reach nearly 60 cities. We are convinced that Warsaw will soon become the favorite hub for Kharkiv’s inhabitants”, says Marcin Celejewski.

Bookings to and from all new destinations are now available through all distribution channels. LOT is the only airline that offers three classes of service – LOT Economy, LOT Premium Economy and LOT Business Class to choose from, depending on the passenger’s individual needs.

Košice, Palanga and Kharkiv, all located in the New Europe, were not accidentally chosen by LOT.

“We have delivered our promise and become the most important carrier in the region. Each new connection is an attempt to provide the passengers with the best option, which is why we are sure that LOT Polish Airlines will be the best window to the world to the inhabitants of Slovakia, Lithuania or Ukraine, hence a totally natural choice”, says Marcin Celejewski.

Tickets to all previously announced destinations are also available for sale, including Tokyo, Venice, Ljubljana, Zagreb, Nice, Cluj-Napoca, Barcelona, Beirut, Athens and Zurich.
