LOT Polish Airlines will connect Luxembourg with the whole Eastern Europe

Luxembourg, 24 November 2015 – Starting March 1st, passengers flying from Luxembourg will be able to visit Warsaw and many destinations worldwide on board LOT Polish Airlines planes! For these passengers LOT offers a wide and convenient network of flights, excellent service, efficient and comfortable transfers in LOT’s hub in Warsaw, and the shortest travel time to many destinations in Europe.

Passengers’ demand in Luxembourg is to have short and convenient connections to the most interesting and popular European routes, including Warsaw, Stockholm, Riga, Palanga, Vilnius, Kosice, Bucharest, Sofia, Istanbul and Budapest. Up till now, no other airline has offered such a complex offer of products and connections via a comfortable, modern HUB in Warsaw, where LOT offers the transfer time as short as 30 minutes for passengers departing from Luxembourg!

“LOT definitely brings an extra value to the passengers traveling from Luxembourg. Up to this time they had to fly via large, crowded hubs, losing hours on transfers. With us almost all northern and eastern European destinations are available via Warsaw with as little as 30 minutes transfer time. Only LOT can offer less than 5 hours total travel time for passengers traveling from Luxembourg to Bucharest, Stockholm or Vilnius as well as convenient transfer opportunities for passengers travelling to North America, China and new LOT’s destination Tokyo, Japan” – says Marcin Celejewski, LOT’s CEO.

LOT will operate flights to Luxembourg with modern Embraer jets 6 times a week. Departure from Warsaw is scheduled at 7:30 a.m. and the arrival to Luxembourg at 9.30 a.m. The return flight from Luxembourg is scheduled at 10:10 a.m. and the arrival in Warsaw at 12:05 p.m. Mondays to Thursdays. With such a schedule LOT’s clients can benefit from all LOT’s afternoon departures to Northern and Eastern Europe, North America and Asia. On Fridays and Sundays, the planes will take off from Warsaw at 2:30 p.m. to arrive at 4.30 p.m. The return flights from Luxembourg are scheduled at 5:05 p.m. and arrive in Warsaw at 7 p.m. These flights serve a great connection for weekends away.

“I’m really pleased that Warsaw is now added to our network of destinations, raising the total number of direct destinations served from Luxembourg Airport to 69. Eastern Europe, until recently, was a blind spot on our route map, but with the addition of Warsaw by LOT Polish Airlines, and the connections which are offered at the Warsaw hub, we are taking a gigantic step forward in opening Eastern Europe from Luxembourg” – adds Mr. Johan Vanneste, General Manager of lux-Airport.

With the opening of the direct service between Luxembourg and Warsaw LOT will develop further cooperation with long lasting partner Luxair. Luxair will put its own flight numbers on LOT’s flight to Luxembourg. For the last 8 years airlines were offering passengers the opportunity to travel between these two capitals only with a transfer at one of the large European hubs. Now LOT and Luxair will be offering together a direct service. Since both LOT and Luxair are Miles&More partners, passengers will be able to earn status and award miles and exchange them for free tickets.

LOT will offer outstanding products on-board. Embraer jets are beloved by passengers for spacious cabin and no middle seat. LOT is the only airline operating from its Warsaw hub to offer as much as three service classes adjusted to needs and expectations of different groups of passengers on short haul, European flights. LOT Business Class means all priorities at the airport, business lounge access, personalized service, gourmet meals and drinks served on porcelain tableware and a seat next to you blocked for your comfort. LOT Premium Economy Class gives you priority check-in and boarding, enriched meal and drinks service and a seat at the front of the cabin. LOT Economy Class offers a reserved seat, complimentary refreshments and a wide choice of fresh food and beverages for purchase.

From March on, LOT will take passengers from Luxembourg to many Polish cities. Stop by Warsaw – nurturing over 400 years of pride as a capital, Poland’s largest city and an economic, political, and cultural centre, or catch a connecting flight to Gdansk, Krakow, Rzeszow, Szczecin, Poznan, Wroclaw or Katowice to explore more of that beautiful Polish folklore!

Luxembourg will be one of the first destinations to be opened by LOT after formally completing the successful restructuring process. Together with Luxembourg LOT will launch several other exciting routes, such as Tokyo, Seoul, Barcelona, Zurich, Venice, Athens, Nice, Beirut, Ljubljana, Palanga, Kosice, Kharkiv or Cluj-Napoca.
