With Avianca, Cusco Is Closer To Europe

Madrid, May 25th, 2016. In order to strengthen its route network and encourage greater connectivity between Europe and Latin America, Avianca announced its new direct nonstop flight between Bogota and Cusco, starting July 18, 2016.

With three weekly flights, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, the airline will connect the Colombian capital with the Imperial City, one of the most attractive tourist destinations in the region. The route will be operated with Airbus 319 aircraft with capacity for 120 passengers.

This new flight that connects with the company’s routes to Europe is an excellent choice for European tourists. The connection via Bogota represents the fastest way to reach Cusco from London.

On the other hand, the connection from Madrid and Barcelona requires an overnight stay in the Colombian capital, which, in addition to getting to know the city, will allow travelers to gradually adapt to Cusco’s altitude (3,399m) and to avoid altitude sickness, since Bogota’s altitude is 2,600m above sea level.

This direct flight to Cusco, and the current connections between Bogota and Lima and the domestic routes in Peru, multiply the options for tourist circuits in the region. Starting the tour in Cusco and finishing it in Lima, with stops in Bogota or other Colombian destinations, will now be faster and easier from Europe.

At the same time, Avianca will increase its flight options between Lima and Cusco with three additional weekly frequencies starting the same day. The airline thus strengthens its operation in Cusco and expands the options for travelling to Avianca’s in Lima and Bogota.
