JAL Group Revises Flight Frequency and Fleet Plan for FY2016

TOKYO August 24, 2016: JAL Group (JAL) today announced revisions to flight frequency and fleet plans on both international and domestic routes for fiscal year 2016 (ending March 31, 2017).

In regards to the airline’s international network, JAL will increase flight frequency between Tokyo (Narita) and Honolulu, and between Narita and Bangkok to meet growing demand for those routes.

JAL’s well-received JAL SKY SUITE configured aircraft (*1), the Boeing 777-200ERs are currently operated on Tokyo (Haneda) = Bangkok and Haneda = Singapore routes, and this newly revamped aircraft will be introduced on Haneda = Hong Kong, and Haneda/Osaka (Kansai)/Nagoya (Chubu) = Honolulu routes progressively.

Furthermore, to meet customer demand, JAL will introduce First Class service during year-end and new-year period (between December 28, 2016 and January 8, 2017) on its Haneda = Honolulu route with the JAL SKY SUITE 777 (Boeing 777-300ER).

In order to further improving domestic products and services, JAL will continue to expand its JAL SKY NEXT service (*2) onto all domestic routes operated by Boeing 777-300, Boeing 777-200, Boeing 767-300 and Boeing 737-800 fleets, under the theme of “A standard that’s step ahead.”

In addition, from the second-half of FY2016, the group will change Hokkaido Air System (a subsidiary of JAL)’s flight indicator from “HC” to “JL” to increase customer convenience.
JAL will continue to embrace new challenges to improve its network and enhance the quality of products and services to provide customers with more travel convenience and comfort.

3. Enhancing products and services on JAL Honolulu Route

JAL will increase flight frequency on its Narita = Honolulu route to meet strong travel demand. In addition, the airline will introduce JAL SKY SUITE configured Boeing 777-200ERs on Honolulu routes to enhance the quality of products and services and to provide customers with more travel comfort. After the middle of April 2017, all JAL Honolulu services including Nagoya and Kansai (six flights in four routes) are scheduled to be operated by JAL SKY SUITE configured aircraft.

Furthermore, to meet customer demand, JAL will introduce First Class service (*12) during year-end and new-year period (between December 28, 2016 and January 8, 2017) on its Haneda = Honolulu route with the JAL SKY SUITE 777 (Boeing 777-300ER).

(*12) Reservations of First Class service are scheduled to be available from 14:00, August 29, 2016 (Japanese Time).

4. Expanding JAL SKY SUITE configured Aircraft onto more International Routes

JAL will introduce its revamping 777-200ER with latest cabin interior (JAL SKY SUITE) onto Haneda = Hong Kong route from October 2016, and Honolulu routes from December 2016 in addition to current operations on Haneda = Bangkok and Haneda = Singapore routes.
