Wizz Air Operates First Commercial Flight With State-Of-The-Art Airbus A321ceo Aircraft From Warsaw

Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, today celebrates the memorable milestone of its first commercial flight from Warsaw operated with one of its brand new, state-of-the-art Airbus A321 aircraft.

Since the first flight in 2004, Wizz Air has constantly expanded its Warsaw network, which now consists of 39 low-fare routes to 20 countries. WIZZ has now 6 aircraft and over 200 customer-oriented crew based in the Polish capital. The newest WIZZ destinations from Warsaw include such attractive cities as Porto in Portugal, Reykjavik in Iceland and Bari in Italy. With its Warsaw routes, Wizz Air now offers 136 routes to 58 destinations from eight Polish airports.

Wizz Air’s first commercial flight with an A321ceo aircraft is an important milestone in its Warsaw operations. This aircraft type joined the WIZZ fleet in November 2015 and today the airline already has nine A321 aircraft. The airline’s first Warsaw based A321 aircraft will initially fly the popular London Luton and Brussel Charleroi routes.

With 230 seats on board, the Airbus A321ceo is the most efficient single-aisle passenger aircraft. The aircraft’s superior operating economics mean that WIZZ offers more seats to more destinations at WIZZ’s lowest fares at the same time as delivering the lowest emissions and noise footprint in its class. In addition to the refreshed livery now appearing more widely in the fleet, Wizz Air’s A321s feature new interior colors, a lighter cabin ambiance, soft leather seats and more cabin seating choices.

WIZZ will take 30 of the current version A321 aircraft through 2018 and then begin accepting delivery of the A321neo, featuring advanced engine technology, in 2019. The continued investment in new technology reflect Wizz Air’s commitment to become the most efficient airline in Europe and this, in turn, will help ensure that Wizz Air remains Central and Eastern Europe’s largest low-cost fare airline.

Gabor Vasarhelyi, Corporate Communications Manager at Wizz Air, said: “We are thrilled to celebrate the first commercial flight operated with of one of our brand new Airbus A321 aircraft from our Warsaw base. We have carried over 12.5 million passengers on our low-fare routes during more than 12 years of fruitful cooperation with Warsaw Chopin Airport and this important milestone once again underlines our commitment to our Polish customers. The deployment of the 230-seat Airbus A321 aircraft, as the most efficient single-aisle aircraft in the sky, will help us keep our fares low and expand our ever-growing network, while we will keep on enhancing customer experience and delivering excellent onboard service on each WIZZ flight. Our friendly crew looks forward to welcoming you on board one of our Airbus A321!”
