Airbus and the Indonesian Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) have launched a long-term partnership to reduce the impact of aviation on the environment. The agreement was signed during the ICAO World Aviation Forum on Aviation Partnerships for Sustainable Development in Montreal Canada. This programme will cover a tailored offering of services and expertise.

Based on the industry four pillar strategy of technology (including sustainable fuels), efficient operations, infrastructure improvements and Market Based Measures, this long-term partnership will harness the full potential of Airbus’ latest generation aircraft, together with optimised operations, to minimise fuel burn and noise emissions. It will also review opportunities for capacity building in areas such as emissions data inventory and monitoring systems in preparation for the ICAO Global Market Based Measure implementation.
