Malaysia Airlines’ CEO Peter Bellew said, "We are very excited to be flying the A330 to Hong Kong. By the end of the first quarter 2017 we will be the only airline to provide the fully flat business class seat on a wide body aircraft for this sector. Our new business class seat is already a hit amongst our guests and we want to share this fantastic experience with our passengers on the Hong Kong route, where more of our business travelers can benefit from our super facilities.”

“The upgauging affirms our operations to Hong Kong in the long-term and allows us to increase our capacity by 80%. Also, subject to passenger demand, we will consider progressively adding a second Kuala Lumpur-Hong Kong service upgrade," he added.

Malaysia Airlines flies three times daily to Hong Kong and the route is currently serviced by the B737-800. The upgauging will take effect from 1 January 2017 until further notice.
