Germania now flies from Zurich to Rostock

Today Germania will operate its first flight between Zurich and Rostock. Until September 29, the Swiss airline will operate flights between Lake Zurich and the Baltic Sea on Fridays and Sundays.

Located in northern Germany, Rostock is well-known for its wealth of historic buildings and its beautiful city center which merges metropolitan flair with Hanseatic architecture. In addition to the omnipresent brick structures built in the gothic style, the city offers sightseeing opportunities for every taste: a large variety of museums, churches, and monasteries along with impressive city gates and the oldest university in northern Europe which dates back to 1409. A modern gastronomy sector and an abundance of shopping venues make a visit to Rostock perfect.

The city is the ideal starting point to tour the Baltic Sea coast and visit the adjacent islands. The region can be explored conveniently by rental car, by bicycle, or on foot. At Rostocker Heide with its unique flora and fauna, friends of the great outdoors will find top-quality conditions for relaxed hikes or unhurried bicycle tours. Germania’s flights to Rostock also are perfect for passengers planning a cruise from nearby Warnemünde.

“We are excited to include this new city connection in our flight portfolio,” says Tobias Somandin, CEO of Germania Flug AG. “Rostock is a beautiful alternative to traditional summer vacation destinations.”
