Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (UAE) signs definitive agreement to acquire 100% of Sky Fund I Irish and its subsidiaries from SKY Leasing (US). Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Sky Fund I owns and is committed to own 36 aircraft on lease to 14 airline customers in 11 countries.
Eastar Jet (South Korea) founder and former lawmaker, Lee Sang-jik, is charged with breach of trust and embezzlement worth tens of billions of won. The former lawmaker was sentenced to six years in prison at the first trial and now faces ten years.
Finnair (Finland) won a PSO contract from the government for scheduled domestic air services to five regional airports from 31 October 2022 to 30 July 2023. The flights are operated by Norra, with DAT (Denmark) as a subcontractor, when necessary.

WestJet Group (Canada) and the Government of Alberta partner to establish a global hub at YYC Calgary airport. WestJet will invest aircraft capacity, with an asset value in excess of US$5.1 billion, in Calgary alone, through significant fleet commitments. All intercontinental B787s flying will be based in Calgary, with new routes within North America, to Europe, and potentially Asia. WestJet will also grow its mid-range fleet and strengthen its North American offerings.

Mexico’s government will investigate whether it is possible to take the name of the defunct Mexicana de Aviacion for the new Sedena airline.
