Abelo, a dedicated turboprop aircraft lessor, has leased two new ATR72-600 aircraft to Ethiopian Airlines Group, the largest airline group in Africa, for operations by its partner airline Air Congo. The delivery of the aircraft represents a significant step towards supporting Air Congo’s growth and network expansion.
Commenting on the lease of the new aircraft, Stephen Gorman, Chief Executive Officer of Abelo, said, “We are honoured to have been selected by Ethiopian Airlines Group and Air Congo for this new lease of two brand-new ATR 72-600 aircraft from our order book. The African market represents significant opportunities for Abelo and for the large turboprop segment. The introduction of the two new ATR 72-600 aircraft is expected to further strengthen Air Congo’s operational capabilities and reinforce its position as a growing carrier.
