AEI Launches New B737-900ERSF Passenger-To-Freighter Conversion Program

Aeronautical Engineers, Inc. (AEI), the global leader in passenger-to-freighter (P2F) aircraft conversions, proudly announces the official launch of its new B737-900 Extended Range Special Freighter (B737-900ERSF) conversion program. AEI is a Boeing Licensed 3rd Party STC Provider and the new B737-900ERSF program is covered under this licensing arrangement.

This latest addition to AEI’s growing portfolio reflects the company’s commitment to innovation, operational efficiency, and meeting the dynamic needs of the global air cargo industry.

The B737-900ERSF will become the largest and most capable narrowbody freighter in AEI’s fleet, offering unmatched volume and payload advantages over existing B737 freighter platforms. The aircraft will feature:
Main Deck Payload: up to 57,700 lbs. (26,173 kg)
Total Cargo Volume: 7,273 cu. ft. (207 m³)
Up to 12 Pallet Positions (in 88″×125″ ULD configuration)
ANCRA cargo loading system
Seating for 5 supernumerary passengers (Standard)
Class E Main Deck compartment with Rigid 9G barrier and smoke detection
Reinforced Floor Structure to support high-density freight and e-commerce packages
180 minute ETOPS option available
Auxiliary Fuel Tank retained for extended range

AEI is aiming to achieve FAA Supplemental Type Certification (STC) in 2029, with EASA and CAAC approvals to follow shortly thereafter.

“This is a strategic move to address the increasing demand for higher-capacity narrowbody freighters,” said Robert T. Convey, AEI Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “With the global e-commerce and express markets continuing to grow, the B737-900ERSF will provide operators with the right blend of payload, volume, and economics.”

With over 625 freighter conversions delivered to date, AEI continues to set the standard in conversion reliability, program performance, and customer service.
