Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M) and AerCap have signed an agreement to establish a 50/50 joint venture focused on leasing CFM LEAP spare engines.
The venture, which remains subject to regulatory approvals, will initially acquire approximately 40 LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B spare engines to support airlines operating LEAP-powered aircraft worldwide. Deliveries are scheduled through 2032, with the first four engines expected to enter service in early 2027.
The partners said the joint venture combines AerCap’s engine leasing expertise with AFI KLM E&M’s maintenance, repair and overhaul capabilities to address growing demand for spare engine capacity as the global fleet of LEAP-powered aircraft continues to expand.
