Avolon has agreed a sale-and-leaseback transaction with Akasa Air covering up to seven Boeing 737-8200 aircraft, expanding the lessor’s relationship with the Indian carrier.
The aircraft will support Akasa’s continued fleet expansion and network development as the airline grows its operations in the Indian market.
The agreement represents the third transaction between Avolon and Akasa Air. Their relationship dates back to the airline’s launch.
“We are pleased to further strengthen our partnership with Avolon through this third transaction, adding seven Boeing 737-8200 aircraft to our fleet,” said Priya Mehra, Chief of Governance and Strategic Acquisitions at Akasa Air.
Avolon said India remains one of the most attractive aviation growth markets, supported by expanding demand for air travel and strong economic fundamentals.
