Avolon Agrees Sale of 33-Aircraft Portfolio to Lesha Bank

Avolon has agreed to sell a portfolio of 33 commercial aircraft to Qatar-based Lesha Bank, expanding an existing relationship between the two companies.

The portfolio comprises aircraft currently leased to 25 airlines worldwide. Details of the individual aircraft types, financial terms and expected timing of the transaction were not disclosed.

Following completion, the aircraft will be managed by Lesha Aviation Services. The acquisition will increase Lesha Bank’s managed aviation portfolio to more than 75 aircraft.

For Avolon, the transaction forms part of its ongoing aircraft trading and portfolio management strategy, allowing the lessor to recycle capital through the sale of existing leased assets.

Lesha Bank is building its aviation leasing activities around a Sharia-compliant investment strategy, with the latest transaction providing additional diversification across aircraft and airline customers.
