BermudAir, via affiliate Odyssey, has placed an order for 10 Airbus A220-300 aircraft, becoming a new Airbus customer as the Bermuda-based carrier advances its fleet expansion and network growth strategy.
The order, which was recorded in Airbus’ order book in March as an undisclosed customer, was unveiled at the Farnborough International Airshow. Configured with 135 seats in a three-class layout, the A220-300 will enable BermudAir to launch new nonstop routes across Bermuda, the Caribbean and North America while improving operating efficiency and passenger comfort.
The airline said the A220’s range and performance will support expansion into new markets, with plans to grow its A220 fleet to as many as 20 aircraft by 2030. The aircraft also offers a 25% reduction in fuel burn and CO2 emissions per seat compared with previous-generation aircraft.
The order marks Airbus’ first direct sale to BermudAir and expands the A220’s presence into a new operating region, reinforcing the type’s role in regional and mainline networks.
