Biman Bangladesh Orders 11 Additional Boeing Jets

Biman Bangladesh Airlines has placed a follow-on order for 11 Boeing aircraft, adding five 787-10s and six 737-8s as part of its fleet renewal and international expansion program.

The transaction is Biman’s second Boeing order of 2026 and increases its combined commitments this year to 25 aircraft. In April, the airline ordered 14 787 Dreamliner and 737 MAX aircraft in what was then its largest-ever aircraft order.

The five 787-10s will add higher-capacity widebody aircraft alongside Biman’s existing 787-8s and 787-9s, while the six 737-8s will support renewal and growth of its narrowbody network.

Biman currently operates Boeing 737 Next-Generation, 777 and 787 aircraft, serving international markets across the Middle East, South and Southeast Asia, and Europe. The latest order maintains Boeing commonality as the carrier expands capacity and replaces older aircraft.

The purchase brings Biman’s 2026 Boeing orderbook to 25 787 and 737 MAX aircraft as the airline pursues a broader plan to increase Bangladesh’s international air connectivity.
