BOC Aviation Orders Up to 220 Pratt & Whitney GTF Engines

BOC Aviation has placed an order for up to 220 Pratt & Whitney GTF engines to power up to 110 Airbus A320neo family aircraft, marking the largest engine order the lessor has made with Pratt & Whitney.

Announced at the Farnborough International Airshow, the agreement extends the companies’ 29-year relationship and supports BOC Aviation’s continued investment in next-generation narrowbody aircraft. The GTF engines will be installed on future A320neo family deliveries destined for the lessor’s global airline customer base.

Pratt & Whitney said the GTF engine delivers approximately 20% lower fuel consumption and a 75% smaller noise footprint compared with previous-generation engines, helping airlines reduce operating costs and emissions. More than 2,800 GTF-powered aircraft are currently in service worldwide, with an order backlog exceeding 8,000 engines.

The latest agreement further strengthens BOC Aviation’s position as one of the world’s largest aircraft lessors while expanding its portfolio of fuel-efficient aircraft and engines.
