Boeing and Icelease have signed an agreement covering the conversion of one Boeing 767-300 passenger aircraft into a freighter, with options for two additional conversions, expanding the lessor’s cargo aircraft portfolio.
The first aircraft is scheduled to enter conversion in the first quarter of 2027, with delivery expected during the second quarter. The work will be performed at ST Engineering’s aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul facilities in Singapore.
The agreement will support the expansion of the managed freighter portfolio of IAT Leasing, Icelease’s Dublin-based sister company, which currently includes seven Boeing 737-800BCF aircraft and other freighters leased to various operators.
Icelease and Boeing have maintained a commercial relationship for more than two decades, involving new aircraft deliveries and passenger-to-freighter conversions.
The Boeing 767-300BCF is a medium widebody converted freighter offering a payload capacity of approximately 57 tonnes and a range of 3,300 nautical miles, supporting medium- and long-haul cargo operations.
The agreement was formally marked during a signing ceremony at the Cargo Facts Symposium on 22 October 2026.
The companies did not disclose the aircraft’s serial number, conversion cost, potential customers or the exercise deadlines for the two additional conversion options.
