Bridgepoint, GFH and AIP Capital Launch $1 Billion Aircraft Engine Investment Platform

Bridgepoint, GFH Bank and AIP Capital have formed a strategic partnership to develop a commercial aircraft engine leasing portfolio valued at more than $1 billion, targeting both next-generation and current-generation engines.

The venture builds on a partnership established by Bridgepoint and AIP Capital in 2024, initially focused on acquiring CFM International LEAP-1B engines. The portfolio has since expanded, including an agreement announced in July 2026 to purchase 11 additional LEAP-1B engines directly from CFM International.

Bahrain-based GFH joins as a cornerstone investor, committing significant capital alongside Bridgepoint funds. The partners also intend to raise additional financing from institutional and private wealth investors to support the platform’s expansion.

The venture will acquire engines through manufacturer purchases, airline sale-and-leaseback transactions, secondary-market acquisitions and finance leases. Its customers will include airlines, maintenance providers and other aviation operators.

AIP Capital will lead engine sourcing, asset management and trading, drawing on its existing technical, legal and servicing capabilities.

The investment strategy targets growing demand for spare engines amid aircraft delivery backlogs, extended engine maintenance turnaround times and expanding airline fleets.

The partnership also marks GFH’s entry into aviation investment, extending its asset-backed investment activities into commercial aircraft engines. The companies did not disclose their individual capital commitments or a timetable for reaching the $1 billion portfolio target.
