CAL Cargo Airlines announced today that as of May 16th 2017it would start operating a weekly flight from Oslo to Tel Aviv.

The new CAL Cargo Airlines route marks another step in the substantial growth of CAL’s global network and of Oslo Airport, and its efforts to expand in the area of airfreight. Every Tuesday, the airline will be flying a fresh shipment of Norwegian seafood directly to Tel Aviv, Israel, using a Boeing 747-400F.

“This is delightful news for Norway and Oslo Airport. Israel is one of the greatest destinations for air-freighted seafood from Norway, and Tel Aviv will be the tenth largest airport for airfreight from Oslo Airport”, says Avinor Director of Cargo, Martin Langaas.

The new CAL cargo route will be able to service Norwegian seafood at an export value of approximately a quarter of a billion NOK annually.

“This route will cover a significant void in our global demand for capacity”, Langaas concludes.

“We are very pleased with the opening of the new route and are confident that this will be a great success that will strengthen the existing relationship with the local fish market”, Says Offer Gilboa, CAL’s Chairman
