Chapman Freeborn has arranged the lease of a Boeing 787-9 from MIAT Mongolian Airlines to Air Congo, supporting the Congolese carrier’s fleet expansion and passenger service development.
The aircraft arrived at N’djili International Airport in Kinshasa on 27 October 2026 and is scheduled to enter commercial service on 31 October.
The Boeing 787-9 will accommodate 292 passengers in a three-class configuration, comprising 30 Business Class seats, 36 Premium Economy seats and 226 Economy seats.
Chapman Freeborn’s ACMI and Leasing division coordinated the transaction, identifying MIAT Mongolian Airlines as a suitable leasing partner based on Air Congo’s operational requirements, capacity needs and planned passenger services.
The company facilitated negotiations between the two airlines and supported the arrangement through aircraft delivery, providing additional widebody capacity for Air Congo’s operations.
The agreement forms part of Air Congo’s fleet development strategy as the airline seeks to expand passenger capacity and enhance its international service offering.
The companies did not disclose the aircraft’s registration, serial number, lease duration or financial terms.
