Gulf Air Signs Letter of Intent for JetZero Z4 Aircraft

Gulf Air has signed a letter of intent with JetZero for an undisclosed number of Z4 blended-wing-body aircraft, securing preferential delivery positions in the early 2030s as part of its long-term fleet modernization strategy.

The Bahrain flag carrier plans to deploy the aircraft to support network expansion across Europe and Asia. Designed for the “middle market,” the Z4 is expected to accommodate approximately 250 passengers with a range of up to 5,000 nautical miles while reducing fuel consumption by as much as 50% compared with today’s conventional widebody aircraft on similar missions.

JetZero said the aircraft will also introduce a redesigned passenger cabin featuring wider boarding doors, direct access to six cabin sections and dedicated overhead bin space for every passenger.

JetZero began construction of its manufacturing facility in Greensboro, North Carolina, in June 2026. Initial production aircraft will be used for testing and certification ahead of the Z4’s planned entry into commercial service in the early 2030s.
