Jin Air to Lease 14 Aircraft from Korean Air and Asiana

Jin Air (South Korea) will lease 14 aircraft from Korean Air and Asiana Airlines as it prepares for the launch of the group’s integrated low-cost carrier in the first quarter of 2027. The fleet portfolio comprises 10 A321neos, one A321ceo and three 737-900s, with aircraft entering service sequentially from September 2026.

The leases, valued at approximately KRW708 billion, will run through December 2035. The addition represents a significant shift toward Airbus aircraft for Jin Air, whose existing 32-aircraft fleet consists of Boeing 737 and 777 aircraft.

The move is expected to facilitate the integration of Jin Air with Airbus operators Air Busan and Air Seoul. Jin Air has already introduced an A321neo full-flight simulator and is developing joint pilot training programs as the three carriers prepare to combine operations.
