Korean Air Finalizes Record Order for 103 Boeing Aircraft

Korean Air has finalized an order for 103 Boeing aircraft, converting a procurement commitment announced in August 2025 into firm orders spanning four passenger and freighter models.

The order comprises 50 737-10s, 25 787-10s, 20 777-9s and eight 777-8 Freighters, making it Korean Air’s largest-ever Boeing aircraft order.

The 50 737-10s will provide new narrowbody capacity, while the 787-10 and 777-9 orders will support the carrier’s long-haul passenger fleet. The eight 777-8Fs will provide new-generation capacity for Korean Air’s dedicated cargo operation.

The transaction was previously recorded by Boeing as an unidentified customer order. Its disclosure confirms the aircraft mix associated with Korean Air’s 103-aircraft commitment announced in 2025.

The fleet investment comes as Korean Air integrates Asiana Airlines and restructures its combined aircraft requirements across passenger and cargo operations. The large commitment gives the group a pipeline of new Boeing narrowbody and widebody aircraft for longer-term fleet replacement and expansion.

Korean Air and Boeing formally announced the finalized order in Seoul on September 16.
