LATAM Airlines Brazil has begun the delivery process for its first Embraer E195-E2, marking the introduction of a new aircraft type as the carrier prepares to expand its domestic network.
The aircraft is the first of 12 E195-E2s scheduled for delivery by the end of 2026, following LATAM Airlines Group’s September 2025 agreement covering up to 74 aircraft. Another 12 deliveries are planned for 2027.
The first E195-E2s are expected to enter commercial service between November 2026 and March 2027. LATAM plans to deploy the initial 14 aircraft across 42 routes, including eight new routes and four destinations not currently served by the airline: Cabo Frio, Ji-Paraná, Macaé and Rondonópolis.
The expansion will increase LATAM’s domestic presence beyond the 63 Brazilian airports it currently serves, compared with 44 six years ago. The airline expects to exceed 70 destinations in 2027 and is evaluating up to 18 additional markets for potential E195-E2 operations.
The aircraft will feature 136 seats in a two-class configuration, including up to 20 Premium Economy seats. Cabins will have a 2-2 seating arrangement, USB-C charging ports, onboard entertainment and complimentary Wi-Fi for registered LATAM Pass members.
Before entering service, the first aircraft must complete customs clearance, cabin approval and final certification requirements with Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC). LATAM has used an Embraer demonstration aircraft for crew training, evaluation flights and evacuation exercises to accelerate the certification process.
The E195-E2 will provide LATAM with additional capacity options for smaller domestic markets, complementing its existing narrowbody fleet and supporting the development of routes that may not require larger aircraft.
