The Executive Board of Lufthansa Group has appointed Lorenza Maggio as the next Chief Executive Officer of Brussels Airlines, succeeding Dorothea von Boxberg, who will leave the airline on August 31 at her own request. The appointment remains subject to approval by the Board of Directors of SN Airholding.
In addition to leading Brussels Airlines, Maggio will serve as Executive Board Representative to the European Commission. She currently serves as Chief Strategy and Integration Officer at ITA Airways, where she has overseen the airline’s integration into the Lufthansa Group since January 2025. Her previous roles within the group include senior commercial, strategy and brand leadership positions at Lufthansa, Eurowings and LSG Group.
Dieter Vranckx, Chairman of the Board of Directors of SN Airholding and Chief Commercial Officer of the Lufthansa Group, said: “Lorenza Maggio is a highly accomplished and internationally experienced airline executive. She knows the industry and our group from various leadership positions at different companies. With her proven expertise, she will lead Brussels Airlines as an integrated hub airline within the Lufthansa Group. I am particularly pleased that we were able to appoint a successor from within our own ranks, following Dorothea von Boxberg, whom I wish to thank sincerely for her many years of successful service to the Lufthansa Group.”
