Maldivian Signs LOI for First Twin Otter Classic 300-G Aircraft in the Maldives

De Havilland Canada has signed a letter of intent with Island Aviation Services Limited (Maldivian) for the purchase of two DHC-6 Twin Otter Classic 300-G aircraft, marking the first commitment for the new variant in the Maldives.

The agreement, announced at the Farnborough International Airshow, will introduce the latest generation of the Twin Otter to the world’s largest Twin Otter operating market. The aircraft will support Maldivian’s extensive inter-island network, connecting Malé with communities, resorts and remote islands across the archipelago.

The Twin Otter Classic 300-G features updated avionics, enhanced passenger comfort, improved maintainability and increased payload capability while retaining the aircraft’s renowned short takeoff and landing (STOL) performance and ability to operate in challenging environments.

The planned acquisition will further strengthen Island Aviation Services’ regional operations while supporting the continued growth of tourism and essential air connectivity throughout the Maldives.
