NOEMI Aerospace and Pawan Hans Partner to Explore Electric Seaplane Operations in India

NOEMI Aerospace has signed a memorandum of understanding with Pawan Hans to explore the introduction of electric amphibious aircraft for regional air transport in India.

The partnership will initially evaluate operational concepts, infrastructure requirements and commercial opportunities for electric seaplane services. It also supports India’s broader plans to develop domestic seaplane manufacturing and expand regional connectivity.

India is planning approximately 150 new seaplane routes under its UDAN regional connectivity program, while the government has proposed incentives to encourage domestic seaplane manufacturing and support operations.

NOEMI said its amphibious aircraft is being developed to operate from both water and conventional runways and can support passenger, cargo, medical evacuation, search and rescue, government and firefighting missions.

The companies will also explore opportunities to manufacture seaplanes in India as part of the government’s Make in India initiative.
