NOEMI Aerospace has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Philippine seaplane operator Horizon Sun Charters for three NOEMI amphibious aircraft, with options for two additional aircraft.
The agreement marks NOEMI’s entry into the Philippines and expands its commercial presence in Southeast Asia. Horizon Sun Charters provides private seaplane services in Palawan, including connections to El Nido, Coron and other coastal and island destinations.
Under the agreement, the companies will evaluate the technical, financial and regulatory requirements for introducing the aircraft in the Philippines, along with potential routes and operational integration.
“The geography of the Philippines makes a very strong case for seaplanes,” said Eric Lithun, Founder and CEO of NOEMI Aerospace. “This agreement strengthens our position in Southeast Asia and provides further confirmation of the commercial potential for electric amphibious aviation in the region.”
NOEMI is developing a nine-passenger amphibious aircraft capable of operating from both water and conventional runways. The initial aircraft is planned as fully electric, while the platform can also accommodate hybrid-electric or conventional propulsion.
Entry into service is targeted for 2030.
