Norse Atlantic Airways has signed an ACMI agreement with Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) covering two Boeing 787-9 aircraft, supporting the Pakistani flag carrier’s expansion of long-haul services between the UK and Pakistan.
Operations are expected to begin in early November 2026, connecting multiple destinations in both countries. Under the agreement, Norse will provide the aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance, allowing PIA to increase capacity without introducing the aircraft into its own operating fleet.
The agreement marks the introduction of Boeing 787 Dreamliners to PIA’s passenger operations and is intended to address demand for direct services between Pakistan and the UK.
For Norse, the contract supports the redeployment of aircraft from a previous ACMI operation and forms part of its strategy to balance scheduled services with charter and wet-lease agreements.
The carrier has increasingly emphasized ACMI operations as a means of improving fleet utilization and generating more predictable revenue while reducing exposure to passenger demand and fuel price volatility.
Norse said it is also in discussions with other international airlines regarding additional ACMI opportunities. The financial terms and duration of the PIA agreement were not disclosed.
