ORIX Aviation has agreed to acquire UK-based aviation aftermarket specialist AerFin, marking its entry into the aircraft parts and aftermarket services sector as it broadens its capabilities beyond aircraft leasing and asset management.
The transaction, which is expected to close by the end of 2026 subject to regulatory approvals, will enable ORIX Aviation to expand across the aircraft lifecycle by adding used serviceable material (USM), aircraft and engine teardown, component management and aftermarket support to its existing leasing platform.
Founded in 1991, Dublin-based ORIX Aviation owns and manages aircraft while providing asset management services to Japanese and international investors. The acquisition of AerFin is intended to strengthen its ability to manage aircraft from acquisition and leasing through end-of-life disassembly and parts remarketing, while supporting AerFin’s continued growth through access to a broader customer base.
Established in 2010, AerFin specializes in aircraft and engine disassembly, maintenance, inventory management and the sale and lease of serviceable components. The company serves airlines, maintenance organizations and lessors across six continents.
ORIX Aviation Chief Executive Officer James Meyler said the acquisition represents a significant milestone in expanding the company’s aircraft lifecycle capabilities, adding that AerFin’s technical expertise, experienced management team and global customer network will enhance value for customers while supporting more sustainable aviation through the reuse and optimization of aircraft assets.
AerFin Chief Executive Officer Simon Goodson said joining ORIX Group marks the beginning of a new phase for the company, providing the financial backing and platform needed to accelerate growth while continuing its ambition to become the aviation aftermarket’s most trusted partner.
