Skymark Airlines secures three more B737 MAX for future growth
Skymark Airlines Inc. announce a resolution on the acquisition of fixed assets being passed at the meeting of the Board of Directors held on 20 June 2025.
This order for three firm B737-10 aircraft is to renew the fleet for the future growth of the company, with delivery from fiscal year 2027 onward and based on a catalog price of US$183.6 million per aircraft (as of January 2025).
All aircraft above will be equipped with CFM International engines.
Following conversions outlined below, Skymark now plans to lease six B737-8 with delivery from March 2026, with one purchased MAX 8 delivering in fiscal 2027, and six more purchased MAX 8s delivering from fiscal 2030 onward. In addition, there are now seven purchased B737-10, with delivery from fiscal 2027 onward.
Two of the three firm-ordered B737-8s have been converted to B737-10. In addition to the two B737-10 already on firm order, the carrier has placed a new firm order for three B737-10s (including one exercised option), and two B737-10s have been converted from B737-8.
Financing was secured by Atlantis Aviation Corporation, a SVP of Sojitz Corporation. It is intended to cover a portion of the acquisition funds (such as advance payments) for some of these MAX 10s. This is based on the premise of a future sale-and-leaseback of the aircraft to Atlantis Aviation.
