SMBC Aviation Capital Places Two Airbus A321XLRs with Air Seychelles

SMBC Aviation Capital has placed two Airbus A321XLR aircraft with Air Seychelles, with deliveries scheduled for 2028.

The aircraft will come from SMBC Aviation Capital’s Airbus order book and will support Air Seychelles’ fleet renewal and network expansion plans. The A321XLR’s extended range will enable the carrier to strengthen services to established tourism markets while opening new long-haul destinations from the Indian Ocean nation.

The placement reflects SMBC Aviation Capital’s strategy of supporting airlines across Africa and the Indian Ocean region with next-generation, fuel-efficient aircraft that improve operating economics and route flexibility.

The A321XLR is Airbus’ longest-range single-aisle aircraft, allowing airlines to operate routes of up to 4,700 nautical miles while delivering lower fuel consumption and emissions compared with previous-generation aircraft.
