Somon Air has signed a memorandum of understanding with Rolls-Royce for four Trent 1000 XE engines to power two new Boeing 787 Dreamliners, marking the Tajik carrier’s first partnership with the engine manufacturer.
The agreement also includes Rolls-Royce’s TotalCare service program, providing long-term engine maintenance and health monitoring to support fleet reliability and predictable operating costs.
The Trent 1000 XE incorporates Rolls-Royce’s latest durability enhancements, including redesigned high-pressure turbine blades that significantly extend time on wing while reducing maintenance requirements. The manufacturer has also expanded its global maintenance, repair and overhaul network and increased spare engine availability to improve fleet support.
The order supports Somon Air’s plans to expand its long-haul fleet and international network while introducing Boeing 787 aircraft equipped with Rolls-Royce’s latest-generation Trent 1000 engine.
