Southern Vision Investment has taken a strategic stake in AVi8 Airways, providing funding to support the Vietnamese startup through certification and preparations for commercial operations in 2027.
Financial terms and the size of SVI’s investment were not disclosed, with additional details expected to be released in future regulatory filings. AVi8 said the capital provides financial support for its certification process and establishes SVI as a long-term investor in the business.
AVi8 is developing an ACMI and charter platform focused on Southeast Asia and the broader Asia-Pacific market. Its planned fleet includes Airbus A320-family aircraft for passenger operations and A321F and A330F freighters for cargo services.
The airline intends to launch with cargo operations in 2027 before adding passenger charter and ACMI services. Its business model is designed around supplying additional capacity to airlines and other customers during seasonal demand peaks and for markets where dedicated charter or cargo capacity is required.
AVi8 plans to build its fleet progressively after entering service, with SVI’s investment providing capital as the company moves through certification, aircraft introduction and initial commercial operations.
The transaction gives AVi8 a strategic financial partner as it seeks to establish a dedicated ACMI and charter operation in a Southeast Asian market where airlines increasingly use flexible capacity to manage seasonal passenger demand and cargo requirements.
