Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS)1 transported 1,475,466 passengers in April 2017, some 8.5% more than the same month last year. A total of 11,813 flights were operated in the month, a 3.9% reduction from the prior-year period.
April systemwide capacity was raised 5.9% in available seat-kilometre (ASK) terms. Total traffic volume, measured in revenue passenger-kilometres (RPKs), was up 12.7%. Systemwide seat load factor improved accordingly: the 84.9% recorded for the month was a 5.1-percentage-point improvement on April 2016.
