TransNusa to Add Four Aircraft and Expand International Network in 2026

TransNusa plans to add four aircraft by the end of 2026 as the Indonesian carrier expands its international network while focusing on increasing frequencies on existing routes.

The airline currently operates a fleet of 19 aircraft, including Airbus A320s, A321s and COMAC C909 regional jets. The additional aircraft will support network growth during the second half of the year, including the launch of twice-daily Jakarta–Bangkok services on August 6 and a new Denpasar–Phuket route in September. TransNusa is also seeking additional slots at Singapore Changi Airport to increase flights from three to five daily.

The carrier said it is prioritizing higher frequencies on established routes rather than opening numerous new destinations, citing continued industry challenges including fare competition, fuel price volatility and global economic uncertainty. It also expressed interest in launching international services from Bandung’s Husein Sastranegara Airport if international operations resume.

TransNusa said domestic airfares have been reduced by around 10% following a decline in jet fuel prices of approximately 15%–20% since the first half of the year. Despite weaker consumer spending, the airline reported passenger demand remains strong, with load factors holding at around 80% and business growth approaching 20% year over year.

The airline currently operates hubs in Jakarta, Bali and Manado, serving destinations across Indonesia as well as Malaysia, Singapore, China, Australia and Thailand.
