Seabury Group Subsidiary SGI Aviation Appoints Paolo Lironi As Interim Chief Executive Officer

NEW YORK—(BUSINESS WIRE)—SGI Aviation Services B.V., a Seabury Group company, today has announced the appointment of Paolo Lironi as Interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The appointment comes after the news earlier in the month of the sudden passing of Wadick Chomyszyn, longtime SGI Aviation CEO.

Paolo Lironi has assumed the interim CEO role from his current position of Executive Director, where he has had a strong track record in aircraft leasing, contract negotiation, redeliveries, buyouts, and end-of-life scenario planning. Mr. Lironi’s clients include financial institutions, lessors, and commercial airlines.

Mr. Lironi originally joined SGI Aviation in 2008. He has more than 10 years of experience in commercial aviation in the areas of managing engines and technical issues, negotiating MRO & lease contracts, and dealing with OEMs. Prior to SGI Aviation, he was Director of Engine Services at IASG, in addition to his previous experience in working for various airlines and aviation groups, including TES and AZZURRAair, and Volare. Mr. Lironi holds an MBA from MIP, School of Business. A graduate of Politecnico di Milano in Milan, Italy, Mr. Lironi also holds a degree in Aerospace Engineering and a Master’s degree in Aerodynamics.
