1.5% more Brussels Airlines passengers in November

During the month of November Brussels Airlines welcomed 6,057 more passengers compared to the same month last year. This passenger growth was registered on Brussels Airlines’ European flights as well as their US flights.

During the first month of the aviation winter season 420,992 passengers flew Brussels Airlines. That’s an increase of 1.5 percent compared to the same period last year.

This growth would have been higher without the unexpected strike actions of 18 and 19 November. The actions had a great impact on the airline’s flight operations, resulting in a slight decrease of the average seat load factor.

Since the beginning of November Brussels Airlines has switched to its winter timetable. Some typical summer holiday destinations have disappeared from the schedule and will return to the network in spring 2014. Other destinations have different frequencies, adapted to the winter demand. A new destination was also launched: Alicante.

The freight activity of Brussels Airlines increased by more than 16%.

The passengers of the charter flights Brussels Airlines operates on behalf of tour operators, are not included in the overall passenger statistics.
