3TOP Aviation Services has acquired three Airbus A321 converted freighters previously operated by SmartLynx, marking the company’s first investment in dedicated cargo aircraft.
The aircraft are powered by CFM56-5B3/P engines and were converted from passenger to freighter configuration by Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW).
The acquisition expands 3TOP’s narrowbody aircraft portfolio into the freighter segment, building on its existing experience with Airbus A320-family aircraft and aviation aftermarket asset management.
The three A321 freighters will be incorporated into the company’s broader asset portfolio as it seeks to capitalize on demand for converted narrowbody cargo aircraft.
The transaction represents a further diversification of 3TOP’s aircraft investment strategy, adding dedicated freighters to its existing portfolio of commercial aviation assets.
The company did not disclose the aircraft registrations, serial numbers, acquisition price or intended future deployment of the three freighters.
