ABL Aviation Delivers First Boeing 737-8 MAX to Copa Airlines Under New Six (6) Aircraft Mandate

ABL Aviation, a global independent aircraft investment management firm, is pleased to announce the successful closing and delivery of a Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft (MSN 44200) to Copa Airlines, marking the beginning of a new partnership between the two companies.

This inaugural transaction forms part of a six (6)-aircraft mandate between ABL Aviation and Copa Airlines. The aircraft delivered is a brand-new 737-8 MAX powered by CFM LEAP1B27 engines, with the remaining five (5) aircraft scheduled for delivery in Q1 and Q2 2026.

This strategic partnership supports Copa Airlines’ continued fleet modernization and underscores ABL Aviation’s expanding role in delivering flexible and innovative aircraft leasing solutions to leading carriers across the Americas.

Peter Donkersloot, CFO of Copa Airlines, highlighted “We are very pleased to begin this new partnership with ABL Aviation, which will support our growth and network expansion. Our strong balance sheet and financial results have allowed us to capitalize on favorable financing conditions and invest in next-generation aircraft like the Boeing 737-8 MAX. As we continue to grow and modernize our fleet, partnerships like this one are essential to maintaining our position as a leading airline in the region.”

The Boeing 737-8 MAX is a cornerstone of Copa Airlines’ operational strategy, delivering superior fuel efficiency, lower carbon emissions, and extended range, while offering a quieter and more comfortable passenger experience. As one of the most technologically advanced narrow-body aircraft in service today, the 737 MAX enables carriers like Copa to optimize route performance while advancing their sustainability goals.

Ali Ben Lmadani, Founder and CEO of ABL Aviation, commented on the successful delivery: “We are proud to welcome one of the best airlines in the Americas as a new airline partner. This delivery marks the beginning of a promising relationship built on operational excellence and long-term strategic alignment. It reflects our ongoing commitment to providing innovative financing structures that enable top-tier airlines, like Copa Airlines, to continue investing in next-generation fleets.”

This transaction further strengthens ABL Aviation’s footprint in Latin America and demonstrates its ability to structure and execute complex cross-border aircraft leasing mandates with speed and precision.
